Unfortunately, in church, we tend to think of a sermon on money as just a plea for more giving like it’s a guilt driven appeal for us to start tithing or giving to the church.įor Jesus though, teaching about money was an essential preparation for a godly life. God knew that money was going to be a big deal to us and so he spends a lot of time talking about it in the Bible. W e spend so much of our time either making money, or spending money, or thinking about money, or worried about money, or using money, or wishing that we had a little bit more money. I think it’s because we spend so much of our lives wrapped up in it.
